Housing

Sun-Power offers her employees excellent housing conditions, so that they can live and work in a comfortable enviroment. The housing follows all the latest standards and is always SNF certified. The housing of Sun-Power includes:

  • Fully decorated rooms with a communal livingquarters, private kitchen and bathroom
  • Fast internet is accessable in our housing
  • All employees have an own bed in rooms ranging from 1 to 2 person rooms
  • The housing costs will be deducted on a weekly bases on the salary of the employee

Transport

Employees working for Sun-Power who do not have their own transportation will receive transportation options via Sun-Power. For small distances to work Sun-Power provides a bike or E-bike. For longer distances to work a car will be made available.

Frequently asked Questions

  • A citizen service number (BSN)

    A citizen service number (BSN) is mandatory for every employee. Sun-Power arranges the appointment with the authorities, after which the employee needs to personally collect this number. Only in specific cases, determined by Sun-Power, is it possible to request assistance.

  • Bankaccount

    The temporary employee is obligated to provide Sun-Power with a correct and complete bank account number to which their salary will be transferred. This includes the owner’s name of the bank account, SWIFT/IBAN number, and the name and address of the bank. Cash payments are legally prohibited in our industry. The salary is always transferred in euros.

  • Contract

    Sun-Power offers a contract and a suitable salary. The work experience and skills of the employee will be taking into account. The employee receives a copy of the contract. All contracts will be signed during a personal meeting with one of the office employees from Sun-Power.

  • Doctor or Dentist visits

    For a visit to the doctor or dentist, you can make an appointment yourself. We can offer assistance with transportation if someone is available. For these logistical costs, we will charge you €30 per case.

  • End of contract

    Before the contract expires, Sun-Power will inform the temporary employee about the possibility of extending the contract. Both the temporary employee and Sun-Power have the right to terminate the contract according to the information specified in the contract.

    Within five weeks after the contract’s end date, Sun-Power will transfer all outstanding payments to the temporary employee’s bank account. In January of the following year, Sun-Power will upload the annual statement on the portal for the review of the employee.

  • Exploitation, violence, discrimination

    Sun-Power aims to ensure that all temporary employees feel safe and comfortable in the workplace and accommodation. Sun-Power does not tolerate any form of discrimination, abuse, or violence. If you witness or experience any wrongful behavior, please contact Sun-Power immediately so that we can take appropriate action.

  • First Salary

    The employee will receive their first week’s wage within a maximum of two weeks. Payments are made on Fridays. Sun-Power is not responsible for the duration of the bank transfer. The average transaction time within the Netherlands is one business day. Internationally, it is four business days.

    Therefore, make sure that you have enough money with you for the first two weeks.

  • First time working for Sun-Power

    The arrival of new temporary employees is always confirmed by Sun-Power. Each temporary employee receives an email containing all necessary information regarding the residential address, work address and hourly wage. Accommodation is available from the specified arrival date as indicated by Sun-Power. Prior to this date, the temporary employee is not entitled to housing. The temporary employee is responsible for arranging transportation from their country of origin to the Netherlands.

  • Flexible workinghours

    Sun-Power cannot guarantee the number of working hours per week or the duration of work, partly due to the significant impact of weather conditions in the agriculture sector. We expect temporary employees to understand and accept that the nature of work may vary between clients and work locations.

  • Free days/Holidays

    Vacation or days off must be requested using a vacation request form. This form needs to be approved and signed by the client first. After that, you should bring it to the Sun-Power office. Sun-Power will review the form and inform the employee whether the vacation or days off have been approved.

  • Health insurance

    When working under Dutch legislation, having a Dutch health insurance is mandatory. Sun-Power provides a basic insurance for its labor migrants. The cost for this in 2023 is €33,39 net per week. Temporary employees with their own insurance are obligated to submit an insurance certificate/healthcare card (copy).

  • Housing

    At the request of the employee, Sun-Power arranges accommodation for the duration of the employment contract. Employees utilizing Sun-Power’s housing are required to adhere to the house rules and follow the provided instructions.

    Sun-Power cannot guarantee the availability of rooms for couples, friends, and family. Housing costs in 2023 are €99.75 gross per week (includes a bed, storage space, use of the kitchen, access to internet and media). Payment for accommodation starts from the date of occupancy.

  • Payslips

    Every Friday, the pay slips for the previous work week of the temporary employees will be added to the flex portal. Due to privacy regulations (GDPR), these can no longer be sent via email. If you don’t have login credentials or encounter login issues, please email: planning@sun-power.nl.

  • Reimbursement of travel costs

    Depending on the applicable collective labor agreement (CAO) and Sun-Power’s decision, employees may receive a reimbursement for transportation costs when using their own car. Employees with a Sun-Power-provided car are not eligible for transportation cost reimbursement.

  • Work

    Sun-Power will notify the temporary employee BY EMAIL about the client they have been placed with, the nature of the work they will be performing, the client’s address, start date, working hours, and any other necessary information. Therefore, please check your email every evening.

    The temporary employee is expected to perform their duties diligently and with dedication. They must adhere to safety regulations and work instructions. Feedback or comments can be directly provided to the temporary employee by a supervisor or through Sun-Power’s office staff. Sun-Power expects collegiality, cooperation, and mutual respect among all individuals. If any unpleasant situations arise at work, the temporary employee can inform Sun-Power about them.

  • Workclothes and workshoes

    Due to health and safety regulations, every temporary employee is required to wear safety shoes while on the work floor. If the temporary employee already has safety shoes, they can bring them along. Safety shoes are also available at Sun-Power for €25. Temporary employees are responsible for providing their own work clothing. Only in exceptional cases and for specific types of work, the client or Sun-Power may provide clothing on loan.

  • Transport

    For employees residing in our accommodations who do not have their own transportation, Sun-Power offers transportation services. Depending on the distance between the residential location and the work address, either a car ,bike or E-bike will be provided. Employees living privately may be offered transportation in exceptional cases, subject to a deposit of €100, which will be deducted from the first or subsequent salary.

    Employees are responsible for the assigned mode of transportation. More detailed rules can be found in the transportation regulations, which will be provided upon allocation of the transportation.

    Sun-Power’s vehicles are equipped with GPS systems and may only be used on the designated route agreed upon with Sun-Power. Traffic fines are the responsibility of the driver and will be deducted from the salary. Parking spaces for the transportation vehicles are available at the accommodations.
